Position: Part-Time Weekend House Manager (1st Shift)


Availability: Immediate


Job Summary: Under the direction of the Shelter Operations Manager, the House Manager (HM) is responsible for providing direct support and services to the shelter including, but not limited to, after hours intake, conflict resolution, response to hotline calls, and general cleaning as assigned. The HM also completes data entry, serves as a backup resource for crisis advocates at the front desk, and is responsible for ensuring the safety of clients and providing basic client care – including compliance with COVID protocols. The HM’s main goal is to ensure a healthy and positive shelter environment through community building activities, opportunities to build life skills, etc.


Education & Experience:  Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a social services field preferred.



Starting Salary: Non-Exempt, $16.41 per hour

Position: Shelter Case Manager

Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Lead Shelter Case Manager (LSCM), the Domestic Violence Shelter Case Manager provides case management/advocacy services in the Domestic Violence Shelter to assist clients who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. The Shelter Case Manager performs all related activities including intake and assessment for shelter housing, assisting the client in setting goals to be completed during their shelter experience, providing support groups and life skills, linking with appropriate agency and community resources, advocating on the victim’s behalf, maintaining a shelter environment that is conducive to client success, and performing basic administrative tasks.


Education & Experience:  A Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, such as psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, or other human/behavioral degree. One (1) year of satisfactory work experience in a social/human services field.


Starting Salary: Non-Exempt, $20.00 per hour ($39,000 annually)

Position: Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Contract Position


Contract Position


Under the general supervision of the Nursing Coordinator and the Medical Director, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will perform forensic medical exams on victims of sexual assault. The forensic medical exam involves a detailed history, a physical assessment including a pelvic exam, the collection of evidence, and the administration of prophylactic medications. The SANE must endure confidential, quality care for victims by attending to physical, emotional, and educational needs of each patient. The SANE may also serve as a witness providing objective observations for cases in the judicial system and may participate in a multidisciplinary team that reviews current cases for ongoing coordination. 


This is a contract position that requires a minimum of four (4) twelve-hour on-call shifts each month. Scheduling is determined one month in advance. The SANE must adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures to ensure quality care. SANE education and training can be obtained after hire and will be partially reimbursed by the organization. Training may take several months to complete.


Requirements: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or higher with an unencumbered license to practice in the State of Tennessee. Must live within one (1) hour of the organization. Must have or obtain professional liability insurance. The SANE should also have excellent writing skills, oral communication, and the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients and their families; the ability to attend meetings and training sessions; basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Word.

Position: Staff Accountant I

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant I is a critical member of the Fiscal Services team, reporting to the CFO. This position will perform a variety of duties related to financial preparation and reporting including, but not limited to, accounts payables and accounts receivables transactions processing, general ledger maintenance, journal entries month-end closing as well as variance analysis, entering financial transactions and budget data into the accounting software, and other special projects as assigned.


Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university strongly preferred. Recent graduates with a four (4) year degree are encouraged to apply. A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of accounting experience strongly preferred. Non-profit accounting experience preferred.

Position: Staff ASL Interpreter


Availability: Immediate


Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard-of-Hearing Services & Auxiliary Services and with knowledge and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), English-like sign systems and tactile forms of communication (voice to sign/sign to voice), the duties of this position includes providing a full range of expert interpreting services in a variety of settings to include private industry, educational, medical, mental health, and governmental. When not interpreting, the Staff Interpreter will provide assistance in scheduling/coordinating interpreter services and other support as required. The Staff Interpreter will maintain the confidentiality of all assignment-related information including information that is conveyed verbally, in sign language, and written forms.


Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or completion of an interpreter training program preferred but not required. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. American Sign Language (ASL) fluency required (skills subject to screening). RID/NAD certification (or other certification deemed equal to RID) preferred but not required. If certified, CEU requirements must be met to maintain certification. Knowledge and understanding of deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing people, their needs, and deaf culture required. Should possess valid driver’s license.


Starting Salary: Non-Exempt, $30.00 per hour ($58,500 annually)
