The
United Way’s Project Ready for School initiative helps children prepare for success in school and life by encouraging parents’ involvement in their child’s earliest learning experiences. The collaboration with Project Ready for School and the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults strives to assure that every child enters school with the skills they need to succeed. The program provides a free Imagination Library Book each month from birth to age five at no cost to the family, annual learning checkups, parenting classes and expert guidance to prepare their children for future success.
Counties participating in Project Ready for School are
Hamilton and
Marion
Counties in
Tennessee and Catoosa, Dade and
Walker
Counties in
Georgia. The free Imagination Library books are made possible thanks to contributions to
United Way of Greater Chattanooga as well as partners like the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, Dolly Parton’s Imaginary Library and the state of
Georgia’s Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy.
