Foster Family Services

The Partnership’s Foster Family ensures the safety and well being of children by providing a safe temporary home for children that have been abused or neglected and are unable to live in their homes. The Youth Services staff will maintain a close relationship with the foster family when dealing with foster children. The staff provides ongoing support, regular interaction with caseworkers and 24/7 emergency response.

Foster parents must complete 45 hours of pre-service training to give them the knowledge and skills needed to work with the youth in their care. Training topics range from raising adolescents in the system to helping making a child become part of your family. Upon completion of the classes, the foster family will receive payment for their time and effort. The caseworker provides ongoing training, preparing foster parents for the behavioral, emotional and social challenges of caring for foster children. Foster parent support groups are available for the foster parents to discuss the various situations and topics that arise with caring for foster children.
