Position: Program Director (Victim Support Services)

Job Summary: Under direction of the CEO, provides overall supervision and leadership for Rape Crisis Center, Emergency Shelter for Families, Elder and Disabled Victims of Crime and Family Violence Center. Position: Program Coordinator (Deaf Services)

Position: Transitional Living Specialist

Reports to: RCYC Program Manager

Position: DV Shelter Case Manager

Position: Crisis Worker Sub (PRN/As needed)

Reports to: Afterhours Manager

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Crisis Program Manager, the Crisis Worker (CW) responds to afterhours crisis calls and makes referrals for immediate services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The CW provides afterhours triaging and provides coverage for the front desk after hours. The position assists after hours first responders through the Family Violence Hotline and completes intake on emergency admissions. The CW provides customer service at the front desk for residents and visitors/volunteers in the building. The CW monitors security screens, documents any incidents in the log and ensures anyone entering the building has been cleared to enter. The CW provides assessment, crisis counseling, and referral; enters client data into Osnium and provides support to the house manager in emergency situations and notifies the appropriate staff on call when necessary. They assist the House manager with duties related to maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment. 

Education: An Associate’s degree preferred with 2-3 years’ work experience in a customer service or social services related field. 

Salary: Grade 150 - $14.00/hour

Position: Sexual Violence Community Educator

Reports to: Director

Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Director of Victim Support Services, the Sexual Violence Community Educator (SVCE) provides education to the greater community about the services provided at Victim Support Services to include the Family Violence Center and the Rape and Crisis Center, as well as, the prevalence of domestic and sexual violence in our community and culture. The SVCE will also be the subject matter expert & primary trainer to program & agency staff with regard to overall victimization. The SVCE will: 1) Provide community education, 2) Train staff sexual and domestic violence, and 3) Serve as an advocate for the greater community, survivors & families. The focus of this position is to provide education that is uniquely tailored to various community populations (i.e. schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, etc.). This programming will assist and empower populations by acknowledging the prevalence of sexual/domestic violence in our culture by identifying how to break the cycle of abuse and violence with duties related to maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment.

Position: Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Contract Position

Contract Position

Under the general supervision of the Nursing Coordinator and the Medical Director, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will perform forensic medical exams on victims of sexual assault. The forensic medical exam involves a detailed history, a physical assessment including a pelvic exam, the collection of evidence, and the administration of prophylactic medications. The SANE must endure confidential, quality care for victims by attending to physical, emotional, and educational needs of each patient. The SANE may also serve as a witness providing objective observations for cases in the judicial system and may participate in a multidisciplinary team that reviews current cases for ongoing coordination. 

This is a contract position that requires a minimum of four (4) twelve-hour on-call shifts each month. Scheduling is determined one month in advance. The SANE must adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures to ensure quality care. SANE education and training can be obtained after hire and will be partially reimbursed by the organization. Training may take several months to complete.

Requirements: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or higher with an unencumbered license to practice in the State of Tennessee. Must live within one (1) hour of the organization. Must have or obtain professional liability insurance. The SANE should also have excellent writing skills, oral communication, and the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients and their families; the ability to attend meetings and training sessions; basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Word.
