The Partnership's Family Focused Solutions Program provides counseling services to Tennessee's Families First participants. Through a strengths-based, 2 generational, and trauma informed approach, our five Masters level counselors empower clients for occupational, relational, and emotional success. We provide individual counseling, family counseling, parenting classes, life skills training, FLEX (Forming Lasting Employment Skills), self-advocacy training and case management to address these barriers that prevent self-sufficiency. Working within the Department of Human Services of nine surrounding counties our ultimate goal is to partner with Tennessee families to empower them towards sustainability and improved quality of life.
The most common barriers for Families First clients are:
- Domestic Violence
- Child behavioral or health problems
- Learning difficulties
- History of trauma
- Alcohol and drug abuse
- Mental health issues.
Staff and Locations:
Our program utilizes five Masters level counselors throughout Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, Marion, McMinn, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Rhea, and Meigs Counties. Our counselors work with our clients within each county's DHS office. In Hamilton County, we also provide services at the Crisis Resource Center, as well as the Maximus Employment Management site.
Clients may obtain a referral from their respective DHS Client Representative or from an Employment Case Management Specialist at Maximus.
